Let's take a walk

And once we're there, since we can't put down any toys for the little one, let's keep her entertained!

Also, when a toddler learns a new skill, the music that is played is seriously ridiculously long and loud. Scared me when she became potty trained. I was frightened that something had gone wrong.

I tried to get a video with the music, but I was also watching Maggie who was in another part of town.

The game really does make it better for single story families. I'm thinking I will just need to find a new way to play. I might just have to give my sims up and go play another family.

I'm thinking once Angie ages up, I might give that a try just to see how much trouble the family gets into.

The thing is that once you let them go to do their own thing, well then they really aren't yours anymore. With the Sims 2 style of playing, you have an image for the character backed by wants and memories. These sims have no memories and their wants disappear when you pick another active house hold. This is really the only drawback to me.

So what if I see Angie as a sweet sim who likes pink? But she decides she's something else, and I see her around town in some crazy goth like outfit? XD

Well, I suppose the way around that is that sims now have likes. You pick a favorite food, a favorite genre of music, and a favorite color. So I suppose I would see Angie around town wearing lime because that is her favorite color now.

I am really tempted to try leaving this family alone when Angie is older just to see what does happen. Testing time!

Introducing...

Hello! My name is Garth.

Photobucket

Yes I am a sardine. And yes, I live in a gold fish tank. But for the purpose of this entry, let's call it a sardine tank, shall we?

Well with that out of the way, let me tell you the stuff you must dying to know. The family that fished me out of my sardine tank is one heck of a mess.

Photobucket

Meet Norman. His confused look in the kitchen is not an accident in the picture taking.

Photobucket

He really hasn't got a clue. Since his wife, Maggie, works hard to support the family, Norm likes to pretend that he's useful by cooking and taking Angie, his baby daughter, on fishing trips to the river. That's pretty much all he's good for, unless you count reading fast as a skill of some sort.

Photobucket

This is Maggie. You can tell by the look on her face that she's just returned from work and things aren't going well. She's stressed out and over worked, plus she eats Norm's cooking every night. I'm just glad he doesn't have to cook my food.

Photobucket

Well, Norm is not an idiot (despite that earlier picture of him in the kitchen). Norm called right away for a baby sitter and a taxi.

Yes, he's holding the baby AND calling? Why do you look so surprised? Can't you do two things at once too?

The rest I can only imagine.

Photobucket

They dressed up in their finest (which is pretty shoddy still-- they really don't have a lot of money).

Photobucket

All the while, Norm was probably wishing he hadn't hopped out of bed at 5am to go fishing at the river!

They went out to see a movie-- something appropriately simish. Something we couldn't see anyway because only SIMS are allowed in the theater.

Photobucket
(This picture you can click on to see larger. I've removed the link to photobucket for it.)

Then they most likely walked over to the Bistro to have a romantic dinner.

By the time I saw them, they both raced back to the bedroom-- to sleep-- stopping only to put Angie to sleep in her crib.

Random cuteness:

Photobucket

That's Angie digging in the toy box. I still have to see if Norm can bring a toy for her to place on the ground else where like at the river.

Also, Garth, the sardine, was fished by Norm and Maggie. You get a fish bowl which you can stock with caught fish. Norm's dream is to make the perfect fishtank.

Only one picture

For some reason, screen caps done with outsite programs are dark. (My CAS pics are all screen caps-- it's a hard habit to break.)

So I took all of my game play pics as screen caps using Gadwin. A hard habit to break I tell you!

Not a one came out. They were all black. *smacks forehead*

I only got this one picture of the family I created.

Photobucket

This is Norm and his daughter, Angie. They are husband and daughter to the sim I made in CAS.

Norm is an angler and a bookworm who loves the outdoors. His wife works hard so he won't have to, so he takes his daughter where ever he goes. (Except for fishing. I have to see if he can bring a toy along to keep her busy while he fishes at the local river.)

Last night, while I was playing, I wanted to send him fishing, so I kept looking for the community lot for it. It was early in the morning, and his wife had a few hours before work, so she could watch the baby.

All of the lots were too far away. So I kept wandering around Riverview, searching, and then I realized that there is a river that cuts through town about a block away from the home. Then it clicked that I don't have to send him to a community lot, I can just tell him to walk down the street and over the hill and go fishing in the river!

That was a big "OOOOOOHH." My boyfriend compared it to an MMO. He was sort of surprised that we couldn't go where ever we wanted before. Now if you see a hill, your sim can climb it. There are no limits.

It's going to take a bit to get used to and remember that!

CAS- You have to be curious

I will say that CAS is AWESOME. Really, who needs new meshes when you can recolor everything and there are tons of separates? (Ok, so it would get boring after a while.)

So making faces:

Photobucket

The first thing you see are the features you can select. You can use them as a starting point, or be lazy and just use them.

There is an advanced tab, so you can customize the features more.

Photobucket

Now, I JUST got this--see the circles on the mouth diagram? You can click on the circles to adjust a particular part. In this case it's between the upper and lower lips. But you get a couple of sub options when you select one part to adjust.

Eye color:

Photobucket

You can select from the premade colors.

Photobucket

Or more colors.

Photobucket

Or a color wheel.

You can do this for everything from hair colors to make up colors to clothing colors. Plus, when it gets to the clothing colors, you can even pick the hexidecimal number which is handy if you want things to match (like gloves and a dress).

Body comparisons:

Photobucket
This is my normal sim. She's a little on the plush side. Isn't she cute?

Photobucket

Here she is fat. See the face?

Photobucket

Here she is skinny. Also see the face? That roundness really doesn't go down.

More Awesomeness:

Photobucket

SOCKS! I'm a sock fanatic, so I love that I can give my sims socks and customize them.

You can even change the colors of the individual stripes.

Here's something else I thought was cute. The bathing suits have tops and bottoms. So do athletic wear, sleep wear, and formal wear.

Photobucket

Time for some game play!
